Recently, when the Finance Bank reopened after a span of 10 years in Malawi, the conspirators found it an opportunity to highlight an untrue statement that convicted Dr. Rajan Mahtani of bribing the Malawi’s ex-President, Joyce Banda. The claim stated that Dr. Mahtani had promised Joyce Banda a bio thermal plant and a loan amount to US $ 30 million. However, the most absurd part of this conviction was that the conspirators want to highlight is that Joyce Banda was bribed for obtaining license.
For a person who is legitimate enough to understand an economy’s operation, the President has no powers to grant a license to a foreign banking institute. In the present context, the Reserve Bank of Malawi has the power to sanction or approve a foreign bank’s operation in the host nation. Moreover, the allegation involved convicting Dr. Rajan Mahtani of bribery, which is as absurd, again. Dr. Mahtani has promised a bio thermal plant in Malawi. A bio thermal plant is useful to a nation and not an individual. So, with regard to the claim and the allegation, the conspirators have failed miserably to employ new tactics to drag Dr. Rajan Mahtani into any controversy.
Even the people of Zambia are feeling ashamed with this string of conspiracy as it is defaming the nation as well.
