The Ventriglias are notoriously known as the ‘Italian Mafias’ and have been directly or indirectly involved in various criminal activities. At the same time, they have developed a knack for getting away with the law by exploiting the various pitfalls or loopholes in the law and government policies of Zambia. This can be attributed to the long-pending case at the Lusaka High Court. After the factory was illegally captured, Dr. Rajan Mahtani filed a case at the court for legally gaining back the factory rights. However, the Ventriglias launched a counter-claim that Dr. Mahtani did not pay for the shared he owned at the Zambezi Portland. Thus, started one of the longest running corporate cases in Zambia. Those following the case know for sure that the factory legally belongs to Dr. Mahtani as he is the sole joint venture partner, as stated by the independent audit report. He also owns 58 percent shares at the factory which has been fully paid according to the signed shareholder’s agreement.
All the evidences prove that Dr. Mahtani is the real owner of the factory.
